Jelly Roll dominates at the CMT Music Awards - Find out who else took home the trophies

The CMT (Country Music Television) Music Awards took place on April 2, and fans voted for the winners of the best country music videos. The event was hosted by Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown, who both performed during the broadcast. Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn Brown made history by becoming the first husband-and-wife duo to win the coveted video of the year award at the end of the night for their song “Thank God.” Jelly Roll won big, taking home three trophies including male breakthrough video of the year.

Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, LeAnn Rimes, Keith Urban, and Alanis Morissette performed during the ceremony, with Morissette making her CMT debut. Country music icon Shania Twain received the 2023 “CMT Equal Play Award,” and tribute performances were held for Stevie Ray Vaughan and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Lainey Wilson was the top nominee with four nominations, including Video of the Year for “Wait in the Truck.” Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, and Kane Brown followed closely with three nominations each.

Carrie Underwood, the most honored artist at the CMT Awards with 25 wins, did not win any awards this year. In the end, social media decided the winner of the Video of the Year, with the final nominees being Carrie Underwood’s “Hate My Heart,” Lainey Wilson’s “Wait in the Truck,” and Kane Brown and Katelyn Brown’s “Thank God.” Kane and Katelyn Brown made history by winning the award, and Jelly Roll was also a big winner, taking home three trophies.
