The 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held recently, and the event was attended by many well-known personalities from the film and television world. Here are some highlights from the ceremony and a list of the winners.

Opening of the Ceremony

  • Quinta Brunson and Janelle James of ‘Abbott Elementary’ kicked off the ceremony with opening jokes.
  • They joked about Viola Davis transcending into ‘ShEGOTallofthem’ after her recent Grammy win.

First Award of the Night

  • Jessica Chastain won the first award of the night for best female actor in a TV movie or limited series for Showtime’s ‘George & Tammy’.
  • Chastain had won an award at the previous year’s ceremony for her lead performance in the film ‘The Eyes of Tammy Faye’.
